CREC Coworking joins Educo
The DANA (Deep Atmospheric Depression) has caused significant damage, mainly in the Valencian Community, resulting in at least 224 fatalities. Its impact has affected over 325,000 residents and 75,000 homes in flooded areas. A total of 71,664 children and adolescents live in the most affected municipalities, and it is estimated that around 20,000 have been directly impacted by the emergency.
In response to this disaster, the solidarity shown by society was exemplary during the initial weeks, with a massive wave of donations providing essential support to many people. However, the effects of a catastrophe of this magnitude do not disappear in just a few days. Even today, many children need attention, support, and resources to regain normalcy in their lives. That is why, at CREC Coworking, we have decided to join Educo’s “Child-Friendly Spaces” project to contribute to this critical second phase of ongoing support.
What are “Child-Friendly Spaces”?
Educo will implement child-friendly spaces in the areas most affected by DANA through local organizations and schools. Through this collaboration, the goal is to provide assistance, recovery, and support actions that promote resilience and well-being for children in this context, also supporting families and communities in rebuilding a safe and protected environment.
The activity lasts for one year and is mainly aimed at children aged 6 to 12 years, as well as their families.
Services will include: psychosocial support, academic reinforcement, games and recreational activities, advice on administrative procedures and document management, and assistance for affected families.
Why Educo?
Our community builders have been discussing this action with Educo to join the initiative and collaborate across all CREC Coworking spaces. This partnership was made possible thanks to María Perarnau, a former coworker and now an employee of Educo, who connected us with the organization and gave us a firsthand look at their efforts to support children during this emergency. A true CREC Connect!
