This was Art Experience 2021, hosted by CREC Coworking

Last Tuesday, April 13, the CREC Coworking team energized the Art Experience 2021, a unique opportunity to see how the students of the Schools of Plastic Arts and Design of Catalonia work and create. To stimulate their creativity, we propose a challenge: Promote an artistic action that brings together the values of CREC Punk, our new initiative aimed at younger entrepreneurs.

The challenge of the Art Experience 2021: Promoting an artistic action that brings together the values of CREC Punk, the new CREC Coworking project aimed at younger entrepreneurs

The day started at 9am with a presentation on the philosophy and services of CREC Coworking, and more specifically, the CREC Punk project. Subsequently, all the students and assistant teachers were organized by different groups moderated by CREC’s CEOs and Community Builders, in charge of hosting the session.

The first dynamic consisted of carrying out an exercise inspired by the CREC Connect service and creating a small community in each group, where everyone was unknown to each other. Each participant highlighted 10 items representative of themselves and was in charge of finding links between them. Once the coinciding points were detected, each group chose a name to represent them and appointed a spokesperson.

Once each group was cohesive, we introduced the SCAMPER methodology in the CREC Skull dynamic to begin to create a space for joint reflection. Thus, the participants brainstormed ideas to Substitute, Combine, Adapt, Modify, Put to another use, Eliminate and Reorganize what they considered to improve the following concept: The current educational system.

After this part, the participants began to fully work on the CREC Punk action, which should concentrate the following values: Sustainability, Beauty, Emotion, Technology, Feminism and “Iniestation” (Being excellent in moments where most of us are mediocre). The result was a set of disruptive proposals loaded with value that students and teachers presented in court, and the outcome could not be more enriching!

“It is better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for what you are not”

Roman Calavera, CEO of CREC Coworking, has valued the day very positively: Sometimes, to find the concept that defines us, we have to go back and look at the classics. Kurt Cobain, leader of Nirvana, could not have better expressed the essence of our goal in the Art Experience project: “It is better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for what you are not.” We are delighted to be part of such creative days and we will continue to do so! ”, he concludes.

The winners of the session were the group “A full gas”, which presented an innovative proposal: Make a 4D mapping projected on young volunteers at CREC Poble Sec where the CREC Punk philosophy is represented through sounds, sensations, images, vibrations… A proposal that we want to carry out for sure! In addition, all winners have a free month whenever they want in any of our spaces. We wait for you all!

Sketchnote Art Experience CREC Coworking Barcelona

Sketchnote by Violette Bay (Dear White)

Our coworker Violette Bay, promoter of Dear White, was present from the beginning of the day to the end in one of the working groups. The goal was to synthesize with one of her visual sketchnotes the most outstanding content of the dynamics. The result has been a wonderful sketch with shows the entire creative process: Team introductions, the main ideas about each value and the last art expression.

The Art Experience 2021 was possible thanks to the Servei d’Ordenació d’Ensenyaments de Règim Especial del Departament d’Educació de la Generalitat de Catalunya. It was also organized by only two companies: CosmoCaixa and CREC Coworking. Those in charge of energizing the session were

  • Roman y Ramon Calavera, CREC Coworking CEO’s
  • Carles López, Alfredo Vera, Gerard Hernández y Marc Parals, Community Builders
  • Vicenç López, coworker in CREC Poble Sec
